I really wish that I knew how to sew. I really would like to make a witch hat like Elphaba’s. But, the sewing machine that was given to me, broke. I’m not sure what to do.

Love the costume, but I have one question. I noticed the skirt ruching varies in depth/width. Do you have any tips for the skirt to flare out with a general ‘A’ or mermaid shape rather than a honeycomb? Also, do you have any preferences as for the type of scrap fabric used?
